Según anuncia el portal ANN mediante una nota de prensa emitida por Summit Entertainment, distribuidora de la película, la adaptación de Astroboy se estrenará en Estados Unidos el 23 de octubre de 2009.

Todavía falta más de un año para el estreno, por lo que apenas se hanmostrado algunas imágenes promocionales de ella; en cuanto a las voces, la película contará con actores como Nicolas Cage, Donald Sutherland o Kristen Bell.

La distribución de Summit Entertainment es a nivel mundial excepto en Japón, Hong Kong y China, aunque todavía no se han especificado fechas aparte del estreno en tierra estadounidense.
